The term "4M" reflects different aspects of my life, all of which come together to create the whole picture; the whole Brinnelle.

Master
I am a certified socio-criminologist (MSc) after giving 7 years of my life to the University of the West Indies. From my studies (which also crossed over into my professional life) I found my passion for assisting those most vulnerable, particularly persons who have been in conflict with the law.

 

Mrs
After meeting the love of my life on Twitter in 2013, I’ve been falling in love with him over and over every day since. You guys may know him as singer/songwriter Roy Simmons. He surprised me on our 5th anniversary with a proposal for marriage, we got hitched approximately one year later and we’ve been living happily ever after ever since.

Mom
In November 2020, I became a first time mom to a beautiful baby girl... and noooo she’s not a COVID-19 or a Quarantine baby. She’s actually a Carnival baby! Her dad played mas for the first time that year and I guess we wined down a little too low 😏 Since then my life has been a whirlwind and although I may seem like I’ve got it all together as a mom, it’s far from that but I love sharing my experiences and helping new and soon-to-be mothers prepare for this new journey of motherhood!

Millennial
Other than the fact that I was born between 1982 and 2000 which is the textbook definition of a millennial, I am a millennial due to the fact that I don’t only work on one thing at a time. Other generations didn’t have the luxury of multitasking the way we millennials do. I balance many hats; other than that of daughter, sister, wife and mother, I’m also an entrepreneur, volunteer, blogger, content creator plus I hold down a full-time job as the Programme Officer of an HIV/AIDS Coordinating Unit.
